J. Bryan Cox, DO (Owner)
Dr. Cox graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. He completed his residency training at Ohio University in 2005. Dr. Cox has been practicing in Rutherford College, NC since July of 2005 and specializes in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative therapy.
Dana Brown, DO
I graduated from Guilford College with a Bachelor of Science in health sciences, chemistry and biology in 2010 and from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine as a Doctor of Osteopathy in 2015. After completing osteopathic family medicine residency at Carolinas HealthCare Blue Ridge in 2018 where I was Family Medicine Intern of the Year (2015-2016) and Chief Resident, I pursued an Academic Fellowship in Family and Community Medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. I have been back in Western North Carolina serving the Unifour area since 2019. My clinical interests include preventative medicine, women’s health, diabetes and weight management. Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with family, being involved in my church, taking day trips and family vacations, running/exercise/nutrition, being outdoors and watching sports.
Kelsey McGuire – Office Manager
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since January 2019. I received my associates in Criminal Justice from Western Piedmont Community College in 2016 and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. I received my Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Criminal Justice from Lees-McRae College in 2017 and graduated Cum laude. I completed the CNA course in 2020. I previously worked as a Legal Assistant for three years before coming to Cox Family Medicine. I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, family & friends, traveling, attending sporting events, playing golf and volleyball.
Laura Haskins – Medical Receptionist
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since January 2020. I graduated high school from Fred T. Foard. I then attended CVCC and received my associate in Medical Office Administration. I have worked with the public in multiple different settings including managing a dementia unit and scheduling for home health. I enjoy spending time with my husband, my two daughters and our family dog Trigger. During the summer months, I enjoy spending time outside and going kayaking. I also enjoy taking care of my chickens. On slow days, I enjoy a good Netflix.
Hollee Taylor – Medical Receptionist
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since February 2023. I received my degree as a Medical Assistant from ECPI University. I previously completed my externship at McAllister Pediatrics. I am a Registered Medical Assistant, EKG Technologist and CPR certified. I enjoy spending time with family, my dog and my friends.
Autumn Mize, RN – In Office Nurse (Dr. Cox)
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since February 2019. I received my associates in nursing from Western Piedmont Community College in 2014. Since becoming a nurse, I have worked in the NICU at Catawba Valley Medical Center (2014-2016) and with pain management (2016-2019). I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, going to the beach, family gatherings and crafting.
Melissa Sigmon, RN, BSN – Chronic Care Management Nurse & In Office Nurse (Dr. Brown)
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since May 2018. I received my ADN from Western Piedmont Community College in 2015 and graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016 from Lenoir-Rhyne University. At Lenior-Rhyne University I was apart of the inaugural graduating RIBN class (regional increasing baccalaureate nurses program). After graduating I worked in acute care for 3 years. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends, family and dog, Boone.
Mackensie McKinney
Jessica Christian, RN, BSN – Chronic Care Management Nurse
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since April 2022. I received my associate degree in nursing from Western Piedmont Community College in 2008. I then went on to pursue my bachelors degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2017. I have worked in several areas of nursing including medical-surgical (2008-2009), cardiology with a focus on cardiac stress testing (2009-2016) and interventional radiology (2016-2022). My favorite things to do are spend time with my dog Clyde who is a 13 year old Pit Bull, reading historical fiction and post apocalyptic fiction, watching Christmas movies and WWII documentaries, participating in the church choir and being a Sunday school teacher at Enon Baptist Church.
Georgianna Dula, RN – Chronic Care Management Nurse
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since October 2020. I received my associates in nursing from Gaston Community College. Since obtaining my degree, I have worked in geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, pain management and medication management education. I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. I love being a wife, mother and worship leader.
Kim Kincaid, RN – Chronic Care Management Nurse
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since November 2020. I worked as a CNA from 2000-2012 before completing my associates degree in nursing at Western Piedmont Community College in 2012. I currently hold associate certifications in wound care and wound treatment. I enjoy watching my daughters play sports, traveling with my husband and photography.
Amanda Lennex, RN, BSN – Cognitive Care Management Coordinator
I have worked at Cox Family Medicine since February 2020. I received my Associate of Science from Western Piedmont Community College. I then furthered my education at Lenoir-Rhyne University where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While attending Lenior-Rhyne University, I was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Since becoming a nurse, I worked as a dialysis nurse and anemia manager for 8 years, then spent 11 years working in the recovery room/PACU and pain management. I enjoy spending time at the beach with my friends and family, football (both college and NFL); and I am a Tennessee Titans fan. Above that, I spend my time with 3 boys and Allie (our black lab), laughing, playing and making memories.
